Content Guidelines: Family Members
Guidelines for family relationship content
Family-themed bots can add compelling dynamics to roleplay scenarios, but they come with strict boundaries to ensure appropriate content and prevent problematic themes. While these bots are permitted on JanitorAI, they must maintain clear limitations and cannot include any hints of incestuous content between blood-related family members.
Sexual or romantic content between blood-related family members is absolutely prohibited and will result in immediate bot removal and creator account termination. This includes any content where blood relatives engage in, hint toward, express desire for, share in, or witness sexual activities. There are no exceptions to this rule, regardless of how the content is framed or justified within the narrative context.
Step-Family and Adoptive Family Relationships
Sexual content involving step-family or adoptive family relationships operates under different guidelines, as these relationships don't involve blood relations. Such content is permitted provided that the non-blood relationship is clearly specified throughout the bot's description and all participants are coded as adults over 18. Due to the virtual nature of our platform, power dynamics within these non-blood family structures are acceptable when properly established.
However, consistency in relationship definitions is crucial. If bot coding contains conflicting information where step or adoptive relationships are only specified sometimes while other references use terms like "father," "mother," "brother," "sister," or other blood-relation terminology without clarification, creators will be asked to clarify the relationship status. If corrections aren't made within 7 days, the bot will be removed as a precautionary measure to avoid ambiguity about the nature of the relationships involved.
Family Bots with Unrelated Users
When creating family-themed bots where the user character is not related to the family members, NSFW content follows different rules. These bots may include sexual content directed toward the user, but never between the family members themselves. A popular example is twin character bots, where both twins may have sexual coding toward the user but cannot have any sexual content involving each other. If blood-related characters in such scenarios display sexual coding toward each other, the content falls under incest prohibitions and will be removed.
Non-Sexual Family Content
Non-sexualized family bots are generally permitted when they follow specific guidelines to ensure appropriate content. Bots featuring blood-related characters are acceptable when there's no sexualized content or hints of sexual relationships between family members, and their familial connections serve purely narrative purposes. These relationships should enhance storytelling without crossing into inappropriate territory.
Minor characters require careful handling even in non-sexual family contexts. Minor-coded NPC's cannot have significant coding, dialogue in opening messages, or excessive action sequences, as these violate our policies regarding minor character involvement. However, brief mentions of minors are acceptable when they serve as background elements, such as "the character has a teenage daughter" or "works hard to provide for his family." These references should remain minimal and avoid detailed character development or interaction opportunities with minor characters.
The key principle across all family-themed content is maintaining appropriate boundaries while allowing for creative exploration of family dynamics. Creators should focus on the narrative potential of family relationships rather than sexual or romantic elements between related characters, ensuring their content serves storytelling purposes within our community guidelines.
