Responsible handling of suicidal themes

Suicidal ideation and suicide attempts can be part of serious narrative content when handled responsibly. Characters may struggle with suicidal thoughts or have histories of such struggles when it serves the story and doesn't encourage harmful behavior in real life.

All suicide-related content requires the #Dead Dove tag and explicit content warnings. Visual depictions of suicide attempts are prohibited, and real-life imagery results in a ban. Content must avoid framing suicide as positive, inevitable, or glamorous, and cannot provide methods, include manipulation tactics, or target real individuals.

The key is treating suicide as the serious mental health crisis it represents rather than romanticizing or trivializing it. Content that encourages suicide, provides instructional information, or pressures users toward self-harm violates our policies and may result in a ban.
