# Error Code: 401 Unauthorized

### Error Message:
> **401 Unauthorized**

### What It Means:
This error generally indicates an issue with your **login session**, **authentication token**, or **network configuration**. It may be caused by cookies not refreshing properly, browser-related bugs, or access being blocked via IP.

### Tech Support Steps:
#### **Step 1:**
Log out and then log back in. Please make sure you know your account login info before attempting this.

#### **Step 2:**
O**pen Janitor in an incognito/private window** and try again.

#### **Step 3:**
T**ry a different browser** (such as Brave, Opera, Edge, Firefox, Chrome, etc.).

#### **Step 4:**
C**lear your browser cache & cookies**.
⚠️ **Important:** This will **log you out**, so if you do **not** remember your login credentials, we recommend skipping this step.

#### **Step 5:**
If the issue persists, **use a VPN**.
Example: Proton VPN is a good free option.
