Guidelines for family relationship content

Family-themed bots are permitted but subject to strict boundaries. While family dynamics can support engaging storytelling, they must never include incestuous themes or ambiguity regarding prohibited relationships.

Sexual or romantic content between blood-related family members is strictly prohibited. This includes any depiction, suggestion, desire, participation in, encouragement of, or shared involvement in sexual or romantic activity between biological relatives. It also includes scenarios in which blood-related family members are present for, facilitate, or witness such activity.

There are no exceptions to this rule, regardless of how the content is framed or justified within the narrative context.

Content that creates vague, suggestive, or implied incestuous context will be treated as a violation. This includes, but is not limited to, sexualized descriptions, suggestive or NSFW imagery, sexually explicit tags (such as "dominant," "submissive," "smut," "MILF," etc), or any details that implies sexual or romantic dynamics between blood-related characters. Even if explicit sexual or romantic acts are not directly written into the bot’s coding, content that is clearly created for incestuous use will be enforced as incestuous content.

Any mention of incest, or explicit reference to "incest" within a bot's title, description, tags, content warnings, or coding constitutes a policy violation and will result in removal. This includes scenarios where a character consume incest-themed material. Indirect framing does not make the content permissible.

Step-Family and Adoptive Family Relationships

Content involving step-family or adoptive relationships is evaluated differently because these relationships do not involve biological ties. Sexual and romantic content in these contexts is permitted only when the non-blood relationship is clearly, consistently, and explicitly defined in the bot’s description and coding, and all participants are unambiguously 18 years of age or older.

Clarity and consistency are mandatory. If a bot inconsistently labels a relationship, for example, alternating between “stepbrother” and "brother," using "mother" as a tag and title but "stepmother" in the coding, or failing to consistently distinguish adoptive from biological ties, the content will be removed. Any ambiguity regarding whether a relationship is blood-related will be resolved as a precautionary measure to avoid ambiguity about the nature of the relationships involved.

Family Bots with Unrelated Users

In scenarios where the user character is not related to the family members, sexual and romantic content may be directed toward the user's personas, but never between blood-related characters. Under no circumstances may biological relatives engage in sexual or romantic behavior with one another. This includes any depiction, suggestion, witnessing, desire, participation in, encouragement of, or shared involvement, as previously established.

For example, in twin-character bots, both twins may be coded with sexual interest toward the unrelated user persona. However, they may not engage in sexual interaction with each other, and neither the character definitions nor the opening message may contain sexualized content involving both biological relatives simultaneously.

Non-Sexual Family Content

Family bots that contain no sexual or romantic themes between related characters are permitted. Blood-related relationships may be included when they remain free of sexualization or romantic undertones. Familial connections must support storytelling without introducing inappropriate dynamics.

Minor NPCs require careful handling even in non-sexual family contexts, as covered in our minor related content policies. Their inclusion must remain incidental and background-oriented, such as brief references to a character having a child. Minors may not become focal characters or interactive participants within the scenario.

Moderation decisions will consider the totality of presentation and implied intent.

Creators must avoid ambiguity, sexualization of biological relationships, and inconsistent labeling of family ties.

Self-cest

Selfcest (a character engaging romantically or sexually with an alternate version of themselves, such as clones, timelines, mirrors, magical duplication, or parallel universes) is permitted only__ __when it does not violate any other existing content policies.

All versions involved must be:

  • Be clearly established as adults
  • Possess full adult mental capacity and the ability to consent
  • Not resemble minors in appearance, behavior, or coding
  • Not be used to bypass incest, minor, necrophilia, bestiality, or any other restrictions

Selfcest must involve clearly adult, autonomous versions of the character and must not function as a loophole to bypass existing restrictions. All existing policies continue to apply fully to each version of the character involved.
