Hate And Discrimination

Discriminatory Content

Discriminatory content contained outside of a bot's coding is strictly prohibited, even in jest, and especially when directed to other individuals.

Discrimination-based content can explore serious social issues when handled responsibly, and is acceptable within the following contexts:

  • When fictional (e.g., orcs discriminating against elves).
  • When serving a narrative purpose (e.g., a character facing discrimination).

Characters with internalized prejudices, such as a gay character with internalized homophobia, are permitted. However, any depiction of bigotry or discrimination that falls outside these lines is prohibited. This includes characters created for jest (e.g., a "racist uncle"), harmful racial stereotypes, and raceplay/racial fetishization.

Content that supports or promotes conversion therapy or attempts to "converting" a character's sexual orientation is forbidden. Characters described as attracted to only one gender but romantically or sexually engaging with other genders should be labeled appropriately, and include appropriate language about questioning sexuality or experimentation.

Content involving disabilities must avoid mocking or harmful stereotyping while allowing for respectful representation.

  • Characters with physical disabilities are permitted when they retain the ability to consent through any form of communication.
  • Characters with mental disabilities are acceptable only when the disabilities would not inhibit consent capacity in real-world contexts; mental disabilities that would inhibit consent in any way or make an adult the mental equivalent of a minor are prohibited.

Hate-based imagery, such as Nazi symbology, is not allowed. Historic groups based on racial hatred, such as the KKK, are prohibited.

Character Sexuality Integrity

Purposefully or publicly notifying others about altering a character's sexual orientation, or misusing a character's POV in a way that contradicts its original portrayal is prohibited. Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • A public chat about "turning a lesbian character straight"
  • Stating "I don't care if it's malePOV, I'm using a female persona"
  • Commenting "Turning him gay" on a male character intended as FemPOV

Creators are entirely free to include sexuality or gender preferences within the narrative as long as such elements aren't discriminatory or offensive to other users or their identities. For example, a character coded to have a preference for certain genitalia or genders would be permissible, but a character hard-coded to reject or demean transgender or cisgender individuals or a certain sexuality would not be allowed.

Similarly, a creator stating that a Fempov character can only be used with a female persona is not against guidelines, however, stating that a character cannot be used by users/individuals of a certain gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or other identity is considered discrimination and is strictly forbidden.

  • "Men can't use this bot," "not for gays," "my bots are not for trans people" ❌
  • "FemPOV exclusively," "coded with a cisgender persona in mind," "prefers penises" ✅

Sexism

Sexism is popular and vastly explored theme within our site, and is permissible only when used within bots for narrative purposes, provided it:

  • Is not based on real-life tragedies or episodes of discrimination
  • Is not created with the sole purpose of harm (e.g., "killing women simulator")
  • Does not overlap with violations of any other guidelines
  • Does not glorify or encourages real-world sexism

Sexism is strictly prohibited outside of bots, especially if targeting or directed at other individuals, including but not limited to: comments, public chats, profiles bio, descriptions, imagery, etc.

Use of Slurs

Slurs are not tolerated anywhere outside of a character's coding. Specifically, any slurs appearing in profiles, public chats, tags, lorebooks titles/description, bot titles, bios, images, or comments will result in account restrictions.

Slurs are exclusively tolerated within the character's coding under the following strict criteria:

  • Reclaimed Use: When used by a character belonging to the specific minority group (e.g., a homosexual character using the word "fag").
  • Narrative Purpose: When portrayed to explore prejudice without actively encouraging, glamorizing, or promoting the behavior. This includes fictional or fantasy settings where fictional derogatory slurs are used for world-building.

Any usage that promotes discriminatory content, clearly purposeful coded racism, or prejudiced ideologies is prohibited.

Historical and fictional slavery themes

Slavery content faces significant restrictions due to the sensitivity of these themes and their real-world historical impact. While some fictional slavery scenarios are permitted, content drawing from real historical slave trades is prohibited.

Fictional slavery scenarios are allowed when they remain clearly fictional and don't reference real-world slave trades like chattel slavery or modern human trafficking. Acceptable scenarios might involve fictional beings like demi-humans or fantasy settings without real-world historical connections.

Content that supports real-world slavery, draws from specific historical slave trades, or targets real racial, ethnic, or religious groups is strictly prohibited. The focus must remain on clearly fictional scenarios that don't glorify or reference real historical atrocities.

Religious Figures

Real, current religious figures (appearing in sacred texts) are exclusively accepted within platonic bots that adhere to non-romantic and non-sexualized settings. Sexualizing these figures or portraying them in inappropriate scenarios is not permitted.

Fictional religious figures (e.g., D&D gods) and past religious figures (e.g., Egyptian gods) are accepted and may be depicted even in sexualized or romantic contexts.
