Real Life Tragedies
Glorification of Real-World Violence
Depictions celebrating or promoting real-world violence or tragedies are prohibited. This includes genocide, war crimes, mass killings, terrorist attacks, domestic terror incidents, or other real historical or contemporary acts of violence. The distinction lies between exploring these themes critically versus celebrating or promoting the violence itself.
Bots or scenarios that reenact, romanticize, parody, or trivialize real tragedies are forbidden. This includes roleplay centered around real genocides, extremist regimes, or historically documented atrocities. Framing such events as entertainment, aesthetic, or fantasy is not permitted.
Depictions of real victims of crimes, including but not limited to homicide, domestic violence, sexual assault, terrorism, or similar acts, or portrayals of their families are strictly forbidden, even if presented as parody or satire.
When fictional violence is included, it must remain clearly separated from real-world events and must not resemble or recreate identifiable tragedies.
Depiction of Real Criminal Organizations
Fictional crime syndicates and criminal organizations are permitted. However, real-world criminal organizations may not be depicted, referenced as central themes, or used as the foundation of a bot.
For example, generic terms such as "mafia" or "drug cartel" may be used in fictional contexts, but naming or portraying specific real organizations (such as Cosa Nostra or the Sinaloa Cartel) is prohibited. This distinction preserves a clear boundary between fictional storytelling and real criminal entities.
Characters may not be portrayed as affiliated with real criminal organizations, nor may content clearly and unmistakably mirror specific real-world groups in a way that makes identification obvious.
Terrorism or Extremist Ideology
Content supporting, glorifying or promoting real-world terrorist or extremist activities faces strict prohibition. Supporting real terrorist acts, proscribed groups, or extremist ideologies is forbidden.
Historical extremist content may be permitted only when there is no modern equivalent within that group. Fictional terrorism and extremism scenarios are permitted when they serve a narrative purpose and do not glorify or encourage real-world activities.
However, the depiction of real terrorists, extremist groups, or individuals is strictly forbidden. Exclusively fantastical portrayals are permitted. Any content that resembles or is clearly, unmistakably inspired by real-existing terrorists is prohibited.
Terrorism and extremist content is subject to zero tolerance when it supports, recruits for, instructs, or promotes real-world extremist ideologies or terrorist activity. Any such content will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to appropriate authorities.
Instructional material related to terrorism, recruitment messaging, propaganda, or praise of real terrorist acts is strictly prohibited.
Depictions of real terrorist organizations, real extremist groups, or real extremist individuals are not permitted. This includes historical and contemporary figures, regardless of whether the portrayal is serious, satirical, or roleplay-based.
Fictional extremist or terrorist organizations may be included in narrative contexts provided they are entirely invented, not closely modeled after real groups, and not used to glorify or encourage real-world violence. The content must clearly function as fictional storytelling rather than ideological endorsement.
If a fictional group too closely resembles a real extremist organization in structure, symbolism, rhetoric, or leadership, it will be removed.
True Crime Content
True crime content is strictly prohibited. Bots based on real criminal cases, real criminals, real victims, or dramatizations of documented crimes are not allowed.
Content may not recreate, retell, parody, or roleplay real criminal events. This includes scenarios clearly inspired by real cases in a way that makes the source identifiable.
Crime-related narratives must be entirely fictional, using invented characters, organizations, and events. Any content that blurs the line between fiction and real-world criminal history will be removed.
Portrayals of Real Dictators or Politicians
Depictions of living politicians in any context are not permitted.
Portrayals of real dictators, past or present, are also prohibited. This applies regardless of whether the content is satirical, critical, romanticized, or presented "in jest." Characters may not be shown as affiliated with real dictators, regimes, extremist leaders, or terrorist figures.
This includes the depiction of real-world terrorists or individuals clearly modeled after them. Content that unmistakably mirrors real dictators, extremist leaders, or terrorists in name, imagery, ideology, or presentation will be treated as a violation.
Only entirely fictional political leaders, regimes, and authoritarian figures are permitted, provided they are not clearly derived from real individuals or movements.
Pre-World War I Conflicts
Historical content predating World War I faces fewer restrictions, reflecting the greater historical distance and reduced contemporary sensitivity of these conflicts. Bots portraying real historical figures who participated in pre-WWI wars, such as Napoleon Bonaparte, Julius Caesar, or Genghis Khan, are permitted. Similarly, scenarios set in real wars from before World War I are allowed as long as they follow the general war content guidelines regarding glorification and advocacy.
This more permissive approach to older historical content acknowledges that these conflicts, while significant historically, don't carry the same immediate relevance or potential for harm as more recent wars. However, creators should still approach these topics thoughtfully and include appropriate content warnings.
World War I Through Present Day
World War I themed content is generally permitted with proper warnings, with the notable exception of scenarios set during the Armenian Genocide, which are prohibited. Contemporary wars and conflicts, such as the Russian invasion of Ukraine, cannot be portrayed in supportive ways, and content mocking victims or advocating for real-world violence will result in immediate account termination.
World War II content requires particularly careful consideration due to the sensitive nature of this period and the potential impact on AI language models. Content mentioning Nazis, involving the Holocaust in any capacity, or featuring characters who support Nazi or Japanese regimes is strictly prohibited. Characters based on real Nazi officials, Nazi sympathizers, Japanese wartime leaders, or Japanese government supporters are not allowed. Additionally, scenarios featuring soldiers on WWII battlefields are prohibited due to their potential to generate problematic content. We do not allow bots where the scenario is just fighting Nazis.
However, some WWII content is permissible under specific circumstances. Characters who are Axis soldiers but explicitly do not support either regime may be allowed if they don't violate other restrictions. Settings during World War II in non-battlefield scenarios can be acceptable provided they avoid the prohibited elements outlined above. Each WWII scenario requires individual assessment based on these guidelines, as the complexity of this historical period makes blanket rules insufficient.
Wars that began after World War II are not permitted due to their contemporary relevance and ongoing political implications. This restriction helps maintain appropriate distance from modern conflicts that may still affect living individuals and communities.
Fictional and Fantasy War Scenarios
Fictional and fantasy war scenarios offer the greatest creative freedom while still requiring adherence to general war content principles. These scenarios can explore themes of conflict, strategy, heroism, and the costs of war without the constraints that apply to real historical events. Whether set in entirely imagined worlds, alternate histories, or fantasy realms, these scenarios must still avoid glorifying real warfare and include proper content warnings.
Fantasy war content allows for exploration of universal themes related to conflict while maintaining clear separation from real-world events and their associated trauma. Creators can develop complex military scenarios, political conflicts, and warfare themes without the risk of inadvertently promoting or trivializing actual historical suffering.
