Overview

janitor+ Router lets you use third-party AI models directly inside JanitorAI, without setting up an external proxy or pasting in API keys from another service.
Everything happens in one place: you can browse available models, see what each one costs and how much context it supports, switch between them, adjust generation settings, and manage your balance from your account settings.
Router is currently web only and available only to janitor+ subscribers. Mobile app support is planned.

Note: Router is not a replacement for JLLM+. For everyday roleplay and conversation, JLLM+ is still the recommended chat model. Router exists to give you additional options.

Getting started

  1. Open your API settings.
  2. Select janitor+ Router as your API source.
  3. Open the Router wallet.
  4. If you're a janitor+ subscriber, claim your $5 launch credits.
  5. Choose a model and start chatting.


Billing

Router usage is billed per token, at the rates displayed for each model. You control your spend by choosing which model you use and how much you add to your wallet.
janitor+ subscribers receive a 10% discount on some of the most popular models. Discounted pricing is reflected in the listed rate.


Why we built it

Router is infrastructure, not just a model picker. It gives JanitorAI a single foundation for connecting different kinds of AI experiences, such as multimodal features, specialized models, creator tools, and more agentic capabilities, instead of wiring each one to a separate external provider.
The initial release focuses on model access and generation controls. Broader creative tooling is planned to build on top of it.


Frequently asked questions

  • Do I need a janitor+ subscription to use Router?
    • Yes. Router is currently limited to janitor+ subscribers.
  • Is Router available on the mobile app?
    • Not yet. Router is web-only at launch, with mobile support planned.
  • Do I still need my own API key from a model provider?
    • No. Router handles model access for you. That's the main advantage over an external proxy setup.
  • Should I switch from JLLM+ to Router?
    • Not necessarily. JLLM+ remains the recommended model for general roleplay and conversation. Router is an addition, not a replacement.
  • How much does it cost?
    • Usage is billed per token at the price shown for each model. There's no separate Router fee beyond your janitor+ subscription and your token usage.
  • How do I claim the $5 launch credits?
    • Go to API settings → janitor+ Router → Router wallet, and claim the credits there. You must be a janitor+ subscriber.
  • Do the free credits expire?
    • The free credits expire one year after being claimed.
  • Which models are available?
    • The model list is shown in your settings and is expected to grow over time. Pricing and context limits are listed alongside each model.
  • Can I still use my existing external proxy?
    • Router is offered as an alternative to proxy setups, not as a forced migration.
  • What happens if my Router balance runs out mid-chat?
    • If the router balance runs out, we bill you the same way we are billed by the provider. Your message generation may complete but you will be unable to make further API requests without adding additional funds to your balance.
  • Can I get a refund on unused Router credits?
    • No. Router credits are non-refundable except where required by law.
